11:37 AM ET 06.08 | USC freshman receiver Steven Mitchell will miss the 2013 season because of a knee injury suffered Friday during a voluntary workout, the school announced. Mitchell suffered torn ligaments in his right knee, the school said. The loss of Mitchell leaves the Trojans with only five scholarship receivers: Biletnikoff Award winner Marqise Lee, sophomore Nelson Agholor, senior De'Von Flournoy, sophomore Victor Blackwell and freshman Darreus Rogers. Junior George Farmer suffered a season-ending knee injury during spring practice. Mitchell, from Mission Hills Alemany High, was reportedly running a pass pattern when the incident occurred.

Sorry to read about Mitchell's injury. Get well, young man.

I do observe that the pic accompanying the thread topper reveals Kiffin's true nature.

Meanwhile Marquise Lee prepares to win the Heisman he deserved last year.

LOL, are you "still" pissed at LK for leaving Tennessee???? Didn't he have the best won/loss record with the Vols since 2009??? Damn, I didn't think you held grudges this long!!! :-)

I really hate this one. Was looking forward to seeing Mitchell on the field this year. The kids an absolute playmaker. Hopefully he heals up well and we see him on the field in 14.

You never like to see this happen to a young man. Get well soon. (We ND fans always want to play you Trojans when you're at your best...!).

DC, good point!!!! It will be a while, before they are at their best in the 12 PAC. I think you will see Oregon and Stanford fighting it out in the North and as much as I hate to say it, I think UCLA will be a big challenge for USC in the South!!!!

UCLA has been signing some talent. Looks like Mora and the Bruins will challenge for the 12 PAC South.

Hopefully the bruins will enjoy this run. Because their run will end in a few short years.

In two years (I think) USC will be able to start recruiting full strength again.
Unless they've loss their s*x appeal for young studs not particularly concerned about an academic program (not saying USC doesn't have some top academic programs, just that the school doesn't expect much classroom performance from FB and BB players) then they will be back--probably without LK.
