04:28 PM ET 06.09 | It's no secret that the Houston Rockets are preparing to make a run at unrestricted free agent Dwight Howard this Summer, but they are also expected to chase Chris Paul as well. According to a recent report, the Rockets have gone through "detailed preparations" to chase not just one of the two high-profile free agents, but both. While Houston could sign both players, they will have to make trades in order to cut salary to turn the possibility into a reality. While Howard has made it clear he intends to explore free agency, Paul has remained silent regarding his plans for the Summer.

QUOTE(#2):

...Paul playing with Howard, Harden and Parsons has to be more desirable than playing with the underwhelming duo of Blake and Jordan.

Likewise for Howard...

I don't see Howard wanting to play with Blake and Jordan either...

QUOTE(#6):

They don't get the 5th year regardless. So, a sign and trade is not necessary. It will only benefit the Lakers and Clippers and will have no barring on Houston unless they dump salary.

Either harden gets traded for Paul or Howard to make room for both Howard and Paul or both Asik and Lin have to get traded for either 1 of the 2 superstars. One of the superstar can sign as free agent. There's a lot of maneuvering is needed. I'd say if the clippers is going to lose Paul then they would want Harden in return...

Harden isn't getting traded. No chance that happens.

As a Lakers fan, I sure hope this story is true! Two major head cases leaving LA to go lose in Houston. Wonderful!

Sign and trade - Lin/Asik/TRobinson/Brooks for Dwight (actually clears more space), allowing them to Sign Paul and DWest. Paul, Harden, Parsons, DWest, Dwight. Bench, keep Garcia,Beverly,Smith,Delfino,Monte, Jones. Then, pray RWhite gets ****-slapped into reality.

Good Luck, Bros.

The Rockets are delussional. How are they to afford these guys? Has everyone forgotten about the poison pill, landmine yet to explode in Lin's contract? The trap the Rockets set for the Knicks in an attempt to save face for letting Lin go in the first place, is set to be sprung on them.

NOBODY is trading for Lin and that final year of his contract. NOBODY.

Mitch is smart enough to reject those role players for D12. Houston would have to dump them to another team to acquire Dwight.
