Not the first time Kidd weighed in on the Nets

07:07 AM ET 06.10 | Jason Kidd has been retired barely a week, but he's already being mentioned along with the Brooklyn Nets. Interestingly, this isn't the first time Kidd has weighed in on who coached that franchise. In 2004, when Kidd played for the Nets, who were coming off two straight NBA Finals appearances, head coach Byron Scott was fired in the middle of the season. And Kidd may have had something to do with that. Reports at the time said that Scott's firing came about after Kidd spoke with the front office about the team needing a change of direction. Kidd, of course, denied this. "I had nothing to do with this," Kidd said. "Coaching changes happen all the time. I'm a player here, I'm an employee. I have no control over who's the coach or what trades are made."

Take a break JKidd. Take a year off and enjoy your retirement before going into coaching.

Haha an accused coach killer at PG coached by an former coach killer of the past. This is the first time I heard of this but teams do yearly exit interviews and certain opinions matter more than most.

I thought it was about $10-12 million? Didn't he sign for 3 years at $15-18 million?
