Nebraska basketball's most important hire ever?

07:15 AM ET 06.11 | A Final Four of a different sort rolls into Omaha this week, but forgive basketball fans for celebrating some Cornhusker hoops news. Nebraska basketball lured a top assistant coach from Georgetown. Kenya Hunter might be the most important assistant hire Husker Hoops has ever made. The six-year Georgetown vet is certainly the most accomplished, also having coached at Xavier and N.C. State. Building a practice facility and new arena are one thing. Targeting and landing a big-time recruiter like Hunter is another. It's the third major piece of the puzzle. This is another sign, and the one you weren't sure could happen, that NU is serious about hoops. According to Gary Parrish of cbssports.com, Hunter's salary will be $230,000.

Good luck recruiting inner city kids to the middle of nowhere in farm land where the girls look like livestock.

Nebraska is a much bigger attraction than....Fresno State.

You are discounting one possibility. If this guy is buddy, buddy with world wide wes, it won't matter to these inner city kids that they are going to the middle of nowhere farm land.

If he is "tight" with www, Calipari, etal are the ones that should be concerned.

Yea like a kid will bypass Kentucky-Louisville-Georgetown for Nebraska. These kids are mostly dumb but not that dumb to go to Nebraska. Nebraska is one big manure pile called a state.

If that manure is turned to $$$$ and placed in www's pocket, it won't matter.

Just have to "influence" www more than Kentucky-Louisville-Georgetown.
