07:20 AM ET 06.11 | Kyle Allen blew into the Windy City and left on top of the world this past weekend. His arm? Outstanding. His footwork? Impressive. His mechanics? Flawless. ... Allen was the offensive skill MVP of the Rivals Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under-Armour at Soldier Field. Buzz around him built as the event progressed. And sometime on Sunday afternoon, Allen was told it was the best one bystander familiar with his game had ever seen him throw. ... Being far and away the best prospect in a group comprised of four- and five-star players can do wonders to highlight one's skill set. "We all love to compete," Allen said. "Everyone did pretty well this weekend, too. We all talk and knew each other before today."

Since it appears this thread is destined to have absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter of the article quoted, I pose a question regarding none other than Chuck Norris's only son, Tim Tebow. Haters are not allowed to rail here, this is a serious question.

Can Bill Belichek take a Jets reject and turn him into a positive for his O? Not necessarily in the accepted pro-style QB role, but as some other weapon, and if so what is that weapon/role?

Sorry-bout that

My question is, what's his role on the team? Pats have not carried 3 QB's on the roster for several years. Ryan Mallett is #2 (in his last year of his rookie contract, BTW), and spent all last year as #2.

Anyone think Tebow will pass Mallet for #2? I don't......will they burn a roster spot for a third QB? I don't see Tebow making it on the field this year.

Mallett has been inquired for trade potential, but the Pats aren't interested, or want a 1st rd pick for him. I just don't see the end game in this acquisition...can someone enlighten me?

I think Belichek is gonna try some different things with him, and maybe look for some size mismatches against dime packages, possibly novelty-jump pass stuff, the easy 3rd-and-1 run-heavy look from the shotgun where he also can threaten a pass to keep D's honest. Tough to beat NFL D's on size mismatches though, with all the speed and great reaction times out there. Belicheck has something in mind, though, but what is it exactly?

As far as Mallett, I would think they would hold onto him as #2 for insurance against injury to Brady, and development for next starter. I don't see TT beating out Mallett as #2 in the traditional pro QB role, nor the Pats being comfy with just TT as their #2 and no #3 (having traded Mallett). If he did, however, somebody will have earned some serious chops in QB coaching.

TE.

Could be. Is he tall enough, and can he consistently block an NFL DL/LB? Not sure about that.

you should bet default... since they will open with each other

Guy sitting next to me on the plane yesterday brought up the MSST/UVA game's last two innings on ESPN3. He was a OrSU fan and I didn't realize that MSST will be playing them.....

With Vandy and FSU gone, makes the road a little bit easier, but never easy at CWS

I would say TE/H-back, if Tebow is willing to accept the position change.
