05:07 PM ET 06.11 | Former Indianapolis Colts receiver Austin Collie's possible road back to the playing field, following multiple concussions and patella tendon surgery, has run through New England. Collie worked out for the Patriots Tuesday, shortly before the start of the team's minicamp and the beginning of the Tim Tebow era, a person informed of the workout told USA TODAY Sports. The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the Patriots don't comment publicly on workouts, said no signing was imminent and Collie might have another workout with another team later this week. Collie told USA TODAY Sports late last month that his surgically repaired knee could be even better than it's been in years, because previous issues with tendinosis were corrected during the patella replacement.

This is Man who should Retire!!!

Yeah, I agree. The knee isn't the issue here. He's probably already looking at blinding headaches for the rest of his life.

Gone before the first exhibition game.

The start of the Tim Tebow era? What, has Tebow taken over the starting QB position? First there was Brett Favre who would never go away NOW every article about football has to mention Tim Tebow. I do not dislike the man BUT enough is ENOUGH!

God has a funny way with dealing with Non Believers, Tebow and The Pats, Go Figure!

That may be true, but the one thing I'm pretty sure the Pats have their own plan for dealing with the media.

Once they realize that they can't cause the kind of drama in Foxborough that they bought into in East Rutherford, they'll eventually give up.

Isn't this the kid who gets a concussion if his teammate sneezes next to him on the bench?

Yes he should call it a career before someone makes him a turnip

A young mind is a terrible thing not to turn to mush.

Collie could be out cold and he would still be an upgrade to the Patriots' receiving corps

June 12, 2013  03:44 AM ET

While Collie was with Indianapolis after he suffered his first concussion he set out 5-6 weeks. he was cleared to play. on third catch he was hit hard with his head hitting the ground suffering another concussion. after another 3-4 weeks he was cleared to play again on his second catch again he took a big hit and another concussion. Collie cannot keep taking these concussions. Collie should retire, and stop the concussions that his obviously prone to be unable to take big hits.

Caught that as well. USA Today is writing like Brady already retired and Tebow is taking over the starting QB job. Since when does a 3rd string QB even have an era???

June 12, 2013  08:35 AM ET

Since Tebow has been unwanted in Denver And New York Jets. Only a matter of time before Tebow will find no playing time at New England, at least not at QB. Bellicheck might convince him to play another position

That's why they released their 3rd string QB to sign him, right?
