07:09 AM ET 06.12 | Denver's biggest need, some relief for its bullpen, could soon be filled by 35-year-old Roy Oswalt. If the Rockies stick to their plan, Oswalt will make one more minor-league start, likely Friday, before the Rockies add him to their rotation. The right-hander, owner of 163 major-league victories, pitched well again Sunday for Double-A Tulsa. Though he made a costly throwing error and was charged with a loss, Oswalt's numbers were solid. ... In four starts, he has given up five home runs and walked six while striking out 18. The Rockies want to make sure Oswalt is stretched out before he's promoted. Sunday, he threw 95 pitches, 62 for strikes, and his fastball was consistently at 92 mph, hitting 95 on occasion.

Not so sure - if - and that's a big IF - he can hit his spots... he'll have something left to donate.

For most major league teams those stats that Oswalt has put up are not that good, but I guess for the Rockies his stats are better than anything they have now on the staff.

Getting his fastball over plate is fine. The real question can he locate his off speed stuff over for strikes? If not, is comeback will be short lived

Never understood his stuborness re being a closer, dude has awesome close stuff.

I hope he's not pitching at home in that first start.

no ... he was done the year before when Phillie no longer wanted him, last year before the Rangers took him on ... he's done now. tis a waste of the Rockies time to deal with him ...

It is pathetic that with their team surprisingly in the playoff hunt the Cheap Weasel Monforts will offer fans nothing better than trash can recycling projects. I am happy to see the many empty seats at games - because until fans quit supporting them the Monforts will keep pocketing huge profits and putting out a mediocre team.

6 walks and 5 home runs allowed in 4 starts. That's considered solid? LOLOL good luck with that.
