07:27 AM ET 06.12 | Just about a week ago, Massachusetts native and former Blackhawks forward Tony Amonte said during a television appearance that he'd have no great rooting interest in a Boston-Chicago final, and Phil Esposito has taken things one step further. "You want to know the truth," said Esposito, the fifth-leading goal scorer in hockey history. "This series doesn't mean [expletive] to me. I have no feeling for these teams. There's nothing emotional about it. They both got rid of me, traded me. So screw them. I didn't choose to leave Chicago. I didn't choose to leave Boston. I signed a contract in Boston for less money than I could have gotten from going to the WHA. I could have made millions doing that. And you know how they repaid me? Three weeks later, they traded me."

hey hey hey....completely unnecessary...
And they did go to the finals with Phil.
Quick tale: When Phil played here, he was a hoot to watch. Every time he got a penalty call, the camera would follow him to the box, all the while he would be voicing his...disagreement with the official's call...while the organist at MSG played "the Godfather" theme. Hilarious

I needed this today.

got to admit - I loved the honesty. Good for you Phil!

I expect this kind of talk from many of today's athletes, but athletes of yesteryear are usually more cognizant of how lucky they were to become wealthy ( by that era's standards ) playing a game they love. In other words, ok to think it, but you don't need to say it..... be diplomatic
