02:55 PM ET 06.12 | The Charlotte Bobcats named Hall of Fame center Patrick Ewing their new associate head coach on Tuesday. He joins the staff of recently-hired head coach Steve Clifford, the former Lakers assistant who was brought in earlier this month to replace Mike Dunlap. Before sitting out the 2012-13 season, Ewing spent eight years as an assistant coach for the Houston Rockets and Orlando Magic -- at each stop, he was joined on the coaching staff by Clifford. With the move, Ewing also teams up with the chief rival of his playing days, former Bulls star and current Bobcats owner Michael Jordan. The Sacramento Kings reportedly pursued Ewing as an assistant coach recently as well, but he'll instead team up with some familiar faces in Charlotte.
