07:02 AM ET 06.13 | To kick things off, former Rams safety Craig Dahl said the 49ers tipped plays on offense in 2012. Current Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan isn't happy about that. Finnegan responded to our tweet on the topic with this message: "Craig Dahl is lame and weak for that glad he with another squad we know how he play thanks for the tips we know who 2 go at." Finnegan wasn't finished. "Craig Dahl we know how you play thanks for the tips we know who to attack early and often," Finnegan said in a second tweet. The Rams went 1-0-1 last year against the 49ers, thanks apparently in part to the offensive flaws spotted by film study. It will be harder for the Rams to repeat that performance, now that the Niners know to be more careful about their tells.

Nice job verifying Dahl's statement, C'land. Way to go.

If the Rams didn't want Dahl to tell his new team what the Rams were doing on D to beat them then they should've resigned him.

Starting this fall all SEC schools will offer a major in Twitter Studies. They expect enrollment will be high.

I'm no fan of Twitter, Wawa (to put it very mildly), but I get why they shorten everything like that. You're right, though. Twitter and the Internet in general are having negative impacts on the language.

As mouthy as Finnegan is, he's right. Any team playing the 49ers should go right after Dahl.

June 13, 2013  12:19 PM ET

First of all the Rams did not beat or tie the 49ers with their offense. They did it with special teams and all the penalties the 49ers committed. Remember the 2 fake punts in one game that had the 49ers totally confused, those fake punts kept the Rams in the game. Plus there were the missed David Aykers field goals. But that was last year.

Finnegan probably tweeted this message out of frustration. Rookie T.J. McDonald is now supposed to fill in at the FS position that Dahl vacated. Now the 49ers know who to throw at.

Dahl will be the second most missed player on the Rams, #1 Steven Jackson. Amendola will not be missed because they found a replacement in Tavon Austin.

Thats right you go after Dahl, the only problem is he may be standing on the sidelines, I think that is why the 49ers drafted LSU FS Eric Reid.

Yep. I just hate that it has creeped into other areas. H8 it!

In all fairness to Twitter, texting shorthand was there before Twitter became popular. In fact, you might blame Twitter on the shorthand rather than the other way around.

The world is regressing to abbreviating, initializing and assorted acronyms, soon the English alphabet will be replaced by ancient Hieroglyphs.

Probably right. You don't trade up for an LSU DB unless you plan to start him. Dahl's more dangerous holding a clipboard or warming a bench than he is on the field. So the question then is why sign him to a 3 year-deal? Was Harbaugh that desperate?

Depends on the guarantees. If it costs them nothing to cut him, there is no risk.
