07:09 AM ET 06.13 | While Boston's NHL team played deep into overtime Wednesday night, its NBA team also finds itself waiting. Although Celtics team president Danny Ainge has stated that Doc Rivers will return to coach Boston next season, Rivers believes it "may be time for a change," according to a source close to the situation. "Doc loves coaching," the source told ESPN. "He loves coaching in Boston. But he feels it may be time for a change." Rivers, who has been attending the Celtics' pre-draft workouts, is unsure of what he wants to do and has not yet ruled out returning to Boston for a 10th season. He has a very close relationship with Ainge, and the source said that is one factor that is making his decision so difficult.

And then come to the Knicks when Woodson is gone.

I swear there was article that had Ray Allen as one reason why he should sit out for awhile. Probably a year old article.

I think he should stop down as C's coach because Ray Allen is getting old.

Nah... it's more like I can't see us getting better than Miami, Knicks, Pacers, Chicago and to a lesser extent Brooklyn. Time to move on. I hope he takes on the Clippers and brings KG and Pierce with him.

Lol, not quite where i was going with that.

Translation, I don't see us winning the championships so I want to move on to a team that can.

QUOTE(#13):

Celtics will not win anything with the group they have coming back. That said, it's time to rebuild.Hell, rebuild around Rondo. Send KG and Pierce somewhere together in a package for young talent, someplace such as Cleveland, Charlotte, Minnesota, Utah... Otherwise, the Celtics are getting ready for some very lean times.

A.) KG has a no-trade clause. He'll go where he wants, if he wants.
B.) Pierce can be bought out for $5mil and walk into retirement or wherever he wants.
C.) Rivers does this every year.

Ummm......what?

Great coach but a year old as an announcer and then coming to a team may give him the rest and passion he may need to re-boot

Gotta love some of these coaches...now that our best players are way past their prime and our team isn't that good anymore and going down hill fast...it's time for me to go. How can I possibly coach a team without allstars surrounding me...that would require me to develope players and build a team!
