07:22 AM ET 06.13 | Uncertainty in the desert may have implications all the way to New York City. [Dave Tippett's] contract expires on July 1, and though he recently told the Arizona Republic that re-signing in Phoenix is his top choice, he has hesitated due to the tenuous ownership situation and the uncertainty surrounding the franchise. The Rangers, Vancouver Canucks and Dallas Stars all have coaching vacancies. Tippett, 51, coached the Dallas Stars for six seasons and then the Coyotes for the past four. If he decides he can't wait around, Tippett could ask general manager Don Maloney to grant permission to teams calling, which after [Bill Daly's] admission on Wednesday should be led by Rangers general manager Glen Sather.

They could sweeten the deal by not giving him Cowboys tickets.

He may leave the Yotes because they have too many chefs in the kitchen out here, but he might not have the right temperament to put up with the NY media. Remembering Randy Johnson.

Yes he did, and now we know those three fingers meant 'One for you, one for you and one....'

I'm with Otis on this one. Tippett should be given whatever it takes to get him back. First abysmal move by Nieuwy (among many) that just didn't sit right with me (and many others I suppose). Tippett deserved to be given quality players instead of that asinine move of bringing Avery in....god that was ugly.

Jim Nill, if by some astronomical chance you read these comment sections for advice from your fans.....Make this happen!

Yeah, I know he doesn't read it, it's more of a plea...a desperation response from a fan sitting in West Texas.

Sounds like you don't want him in NY.

TGO calls him raptor-head. I can't help but laugh every time I see him.
