07:23 AM ET 06.13 | How many more overtimes are there in Phoenix? [The Coyotes] are on life support and this time the NHL actually means it. Really. Can you say the Quebec Nordiques, Round 2? Or maybe the Seattle Totems? Within two weeks, the NHL requires a financial answer from the near bankrupt City of Glendale, an answer that could end the years of drama and speculation involving the only team in the league without an owner. "It's possible the team won't play there next year," said Gary Bettman, in an unusual prediction for the normally optimistic NHL commissioner. Then he said: "We're still focused on making it work in Glendale with the focus on the Coyotes staying in Glendale." But time is quickly running out.

Seattle Totems?

If that's the best Seattle has, better to move them to Quebec City.

They should go the route of Ottawa, and pull a name from the city's Stanley Cup past. (Yes, Seattle won the Stanley Cup.)

Go with the Seattle Millionaires.

Normally Optimistic?
Is that a euphemism for mornic and short-sighted?

OOPS.

My, isn't that nice.

June 13, 2013  09:59 AM ET

Seattle Metropolitans or Totems or Whatevers have no arena except for the 6,500 seat ShoWare Arena. Kansas City has a NHL-ready arena but no fan base. Quebec City has this fan base but the NHL ready arena will only be delivered at the beginning of the 2015-2016 season. Still, Quebec should be the logical choice, as it is the only place where you can be sure NHL will make money, instead of losing it

This article suggests the Coyotes could be gone in 2 weeks, but the new arenas in Seattle and QC aren't built yet. The timing doesn't quite align here.

I know. How's this: Move the 'Yotes to QC with no arena, then realign the Lightning and Panthers to the Pacific Division?
