03:02 AM ET 06.14 | Luke Donald holds a one-shot lead over Phil Mickelson at the 2013 US Open, when play was suspended just before 8:30 p.m., Thursday because of fading daylight. Like earlier in the week, Mother Nature wasn't kind with two weather delays on the opening day of the tournament as storms moved through the area, with the majority of players yet to finish their first round. Mickelson, who played in the morning held the lead at -3 for most of the day after carding a 67, but three straight birdies by Donald saw him overtake "Lefty" before play ended for the day. Mickelson only arrived at the Merion on Thursday morning after spending the early part of the week back at home to attend his daughter's graduation but he admitted after his round that it worked out perfectly.

Luke can win it alright but he's going to have to deal with Tiger's snake first.

Did you guys see the highlights of Pettersson's ball getting hit by a wayward tee shot during his backswing? What a trip!

Dayum. I have pretty much the largest smart phone on the market and the keyboard is still way too small for these fingers. That was painful :)

Mickelson and Mahan playing together in the last group should be interesting to watch.

Thank you. I was almost finished and I inadvertently touched something and "poof", half the list was gone. The bartender at the pub I was eating at must have thought I was crazy. She just kept laughing. at me while I mumble to my phone.

Thanks for the updates Rex. Are you sure it was the fingers and not the Tanqueray that caused the keyboard problems.

I would hate to see Phil win this. My hope is he goes back to his old self and brings out the driver today
