Evander Kane calls Chris Bosh a 'fairy' on Twitter

03:04 AM ET 06.14 | Hockey players have always looked down on basketball players and for good reason. In hockey, a flop still means you're taking a stick to the face, but basketball seems to be filled with innocent guys always getting screwed by the referees. Evander Kane is obviously of this notion and he took to Twitter to tell the world how he really feels about Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh. Kane called Bosh a "fairy" for the way he drove to the basket against the Spurs and while he was simply making a comment on Bosh's play, he chose poor wording to do so. The backlash on Twitter was almost instantaneous against Kane, who still tried to brush it off as something people were getting too wound up about. The Jets star apologized and said he had learned from his little incident and it proves that even things that fly under the radar can still cause a stir with certain people. Also, it's likely the only time the Winnipeg Jets and Miami Heat will ever be uttered in the same sentence or appear anywhere near each other for the rest of time.

He did just have foot surgery but it appears to have been unsuccessful...apparently they are once again going to have to remove it from his mouth.

Can't afford a Zamboni in Winnipeg so the players help out whenever they can...

Would it have been better to call him testosterone deficient?

June 14, 2013  02:14 PM ET

Probably caused such a stir because he didn't add the tag du jour "no ****."

Agree. Foot-in-mouth disease. Sad thing is, this comes from a guy who has the gull of accusing others of being racist after being benched for lousy play.

Nah. He just has his ear to the ground to find out if Matt Cooke's coming his way. ;-)
