07:13 AM ET 06.14 | Phil Jackson knows. [Jackson] doesn't want to lie to himself, he's done coaching. "Sometimes I feel I can still get out there and do it but the reality is I'm kidding myself," Jackson said at a "Live Talks Los Angeles" event at the Alex Theatre in Glendale on Wednesday. Jackson said he returned for one final year with the team in 2010-11 as a favor to the late Dr. Jerry Buss (and his support staff). "When I was done I knew I was done -- physically it was over," he said. ... "I have no intention of coaching," said Jackson, reiterating that he's open to the idea of helping to shape an organization in the front office. "[The Lakers are] going through crisis and if they ask me to come and sit and just listen to what's going on, I'm willing to do that," he said.

He's actually stirring up the pot. The management will continue to get blame because PJ is out there and Jim Buss is willing to swallow his ego just for once. Phil will give some good insights to the management if he is added to the management.

This is a funny story. Phony Phil saying he quit AGAIN! Coat tailers tend to do that when their ride comes to an end.

Didn't he quit after MJ retired? And now that he knows he has no chance to coach the next G.O.A.T., there should be no surprise he is quitting again.

What is so puzzling to me is if he thinks Kobe was so great, like MJ was, why doesn't he want to coach ninja boy any more??? hmmmmmmm

This really makes no sense if Phony Phil really believes ninja boy has the same stuff that MJ had or better yet, if ninja boy is so much better than Lebron. Yeah right.

Phony Phil knows better, he is quitting because he knows the Lakers are not even a legit playoff team. They are old and slow and as long as Kobe is on that team, they will probably finish 8th or 9th in the West.

ANYWAYS.........about that Spurs-Heat game last night. The Heat completely shut down Tony Parker in the 2nd half and the big 3 just shot the lights out the gym.

Well now this thing has turned into a three game series. And I have to give Pop credit for not playing Bonner and giving us a chance. It only took him like 6 years to stop doing it.

But unless we can hit 10+ 3ptrs we can't beat that team when they are dialed in.

We are going to need another 30 3pt attempts to play with the Heat because like I have said on many occasions no team is going to out play the Heat with 2pt baskets, and we are not going to be the first. Our only chance is to let the 3ptrs fly or die.

The formula for our punchers chance is NO BONNER (< 10mins, preferably no mins at all) and 10 + made 3ptrs.

Dude, they lost and your Heat team won. Pop played Bonner but he wasn't the reason why they lost... Anyways, congrats on your Heat winning and your god Lebron showing up. I guess Spo was a great coach yesterday because the big 3 showed up. It's not because of Spo making changes and putting the right players. Spo sucks because he didn't play Birdman and played Cole a lot more. Yuup, he is such a bad coach just like Wino Pop...

That was the best offensive and defensive play at the same time for the Heat in the entire playoffs. When your top 3 play offensive and defense like that no team can beat them. Even the roll players stepped up. It was the first time the big 3 showed up on the same night

June 14, 2013  08:40 AM ET

The big 3 showed up and they continued to attack and be aggressive. Wade set the tone early and didn't let up. Chalmers and Allen's timely shots were big. Spurs turnovers were very costly and Manu not showing up at all just kills the Spurs. Parker sat down too long in the 2nd half and that was costly. This is where we can say that Pop was bad on his part of coaching.

What an idiot you are. Please tell ol' wise one. What exactly is it about Phil Jackson that is phony? It must be the 13 NBA Championship rings he's earned right? Friggin moron.

Jackson doesn't want to coach. He wants to be a GM or consulant involved in building teams and offering advice, like Riley is now

But, your bashing of the Heat when they lose is.......the same thing!

What bashing? You got the wrong guy!

QUOTE(#14):

Coaches are overrated. They are ONLY as good as the players on the team. Pop is a great coach, until they lose to Miami and then Spoelstra is a great coach. Jackson's biggest accomplishment was choosing teams with superstars on the precipice of titles when he arrived.

That's the same as saying Spoelstra's biggest accomplishment is not getting by Pat Riley so that he could steal the glory.

As much as I hate to admit it, I think that was it for SA. They really needed to protect home court into game 5 to win this thing. Now, even if they win the next game, its really hard for me to believe that they'll win game 6 in Miami, and they certainly aren't winning a game 7 there.

I may as well face it. The dirtiest player in the league, the punk, and the ostrich are going to win it all again. Oh well. I can still hope for career ending knee injury.

I HATE the MIAMI HEAT.
