03:31 PM ET 06.14 | Stanford has won the last 19 Directors' Cups, and added another title in the cumulative college athletics competition Friday as Learfield Sports announced that the Cardinal would win again regardless of the results of the College World Series.

Stanford has shown it excels across the 24 sports it sponsors, winning every version of the Directors' Cup with the exception of its inaugural year of 1993-1994. The only championship the Cardinal won this year was in women's tennis, but they were good enough in other sports to make up for it.

Second place went to Florida, who were runners up by just 41.5 points -- the closest result in the history of the event.

Also note that Williams College (ranked ahead of both Stanford and Harvard on Forbes "America's Best Colleges" list) just won their 16th (out of 18 all time) Directors' Cup

Should have inserted "Division 3" ahead of "Directors' Cup"
