Kobe Bryant wants two more runs at a championship

05:01 AM ET 06.15 | Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant will be facing one of the toughest challenges of his career when he attempts to fully recover from a ruptured Achilles tendon. It won't be easy for Bryant, at his age, to return with the same kind of explosiveness that he once had, but Bryant doesn't feel that he is ready to hang it up until he has "two more cracks" at another NBA championship. Many had believed that Bryant would call it quits after next season when his contract expires, but the challenge of returning from the injury could be the motivating factor that Bryant needs to stay on the court for a few more years.

Find a way to sign CP and still keep Gasol and Howard, then Kobe might have a serious chance at another ring!!!!

Gasol is just as good as Josh Smith, but I do agree with you, they need CP as their PG!!!

The Lakers need to whatever they can to get Russell Westbrook. Kobe is not going to win another title so the Lakers need to start building for the future.

As another Mick once said "You can't always get what you want. But if you try some time....."

Wow! They better start dealing w/ reality first. Look at the cap first and see where you can go w/ that. They're number 1 option should be Dwight. Dwight is the only option right now. You lose him and you're stuck w/ an aging team w/ mediocre talent while still being over the cap. The reality is that Kobe will be back together w/ Nash and Gasol. Those 3 alone are your cap space.

Then transplant Phil Jackson's brain into Sofia Veraga's head and hire her as head coach and I'm buying season tickets...

Lakers will be a better team w/o DH12. Although he is very talented he reminds me of a Dominique Wilkins and Vince Carter loads of awe inspiring flashes of greatness but just doesn't seem to have that extra something. Lakers should let him walk and get some young talent that can support the aging core of Kobe, Nash, and Gasol very similar to what the Spurs have done. They built young talent around the aging Duncan who I will consider Top5 greatest NBA player if they can beat Miami, Tony Parker an above average PG, and Manu basically a starter in the 6th man position. There is no flow with DH12 in the middle offensively and he is a great individual defender but does not play great team defense what good is getting 3 or 4 blocks per game when the weak side is scoring at will? Sign Monta Ellis and Josh Smith.
Wish List:
PG- Monta Ellis (Nash as Backup)
SG- Kobe Bryant (Ellis can play the 2 also)
SF- MWP
PF- Josh Smith
C- Pau Gasol
My 2 cents.
