11:07 AM ET 06.15 | Former Kings governor Tim Leiweke had a relationship with the team that was stormy at times and typhoon-like on occasion. All seemed forgiven last June when the team won the Stanley Cup. It took only a year for Leiweke to spend that goodwill. Leiweke, now the president of the Toronto Maple Leafs, incurred the ire of Kings fans last week after an interview on Leafs TV. He was asked about his experience during the Maple Leafs' "breakthrough spring" and his impressions of "the passion of Leaf Nation as they came out in support of the Blue and White." Said Leiweke: "We didn't see that in L.A., and we won the Stanley Cup. We finally saw it at the end. It took us getting to the finals in order to awaken that town. It's not a hockey town."

This is shocking. The Kings are not the top choice in LA. What does it matter anyway. That team is good, does the rest matter?

No, it's a Football town, Oh ......Dammit

June 15, 2013  11:32 AM ET

Its certainly not the hockey town like say Phoenix or Fort Lauderdale is.

June 15, 2013  11:39 AM ET

When 1967 is the last time Toronto won the Cup, one should speak softly.

I couldn't believe it (still) when the Rams left.

Fans have a dozen hats in their closet, they just pick out the hat of a leading team and proudly wear it ;)

Los Angeles is a me town.

Not a baseball town either - regardless of what Josh Hamilton might have believed.

L.A. is my lady.

Posthumously,

No city in the sun with surfing and beaches loaded with scantily clad babes will ever be a true hockey town. I don't see why Angelinos noses are getting out of joint over this.

Angels don't play in LA no matter what they call themselves.

They lost and we are reading what kind of town it isn't?

Still not true, so marketing untruth? Where is it located precisely, as its not worthy of looking up.
