12:45 PM ET 06.15 | Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said he considered sitting out the upcoming 2013-14 season, according to Mark Maske of The Washington Post. Hall was released by the Redskins prior to the start of free agency this offseason, but signed with the team after much of the open market had run its course. "I felt like I could do some things off the field that would have been just as lucrative as coming to play," Hall said, "So I really had to sit back and just examine the situation, see if I did feel like I could do it again." Hall has slowed down in recent seasons to be sure, but in his 10th season in the NFL last year, Hall managed to snag four interceptions and 14 pass deflections. He's lost some speed and agility, which is likely why the Redskins released him in the first place. Hall didn't receive many looks on the open market and took a smaller contract to return to the Redskins. He'll have a prominent role in the defense this coming season, but his playing days are certainly numbered. Washington is hoping David Amerson, a rookie taken in the second round in the 2013 NFL Draft, can likely step into a starting role sooner rather than later.

Really? Unless you've got some sweet media deal, nobody else is going to pay you as much as the veteran minimum in the NFL.

Maybe he should see how things are working out for TO. I'll bet he thought he could have a lucrative career outside of the NFL. How's that working out?

You just wait until he's in the Pro Bowling League and those lucrative endorsements for big black balls start coming in.

So who is telling him a year away from football will increase his value? Ask McGhee if sitting out OTAs increased his value.
