Clippers to offer Shaw or Hollins head coaching job

05:18 AM ET 06.16 | The most talked about basketball rumor this weekend had nothing at all to do with the NBA Finals or LeBron James. Rather, all eyes and ears were focused on Boston and Los Angeles as rumors swirled about a trade that would send Doc Rivers, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to the Clippers for a handful of assets. But as far-fetched as the rumor sounds, it's beginning to look like the root of the rumor is crumbling away as well. Per the Los Angeles Times, the Clippers appear ready to move on from the possibility of landing Rivers and will ramp up their attempts to hire either Brian Shaw or Lionel Hollins. Both names are also being considered in Denver for the Nuggets head coaching job and it's likely that when one of the two men is hired in either Denver or Los Angeles, the other will quickly sign papers in the vacant city.

Shame...both the Clippers and the Celtics would benefit from the deal.

How would the Clippers benefit (other than getting a good coach)?

If the lakers make a trade ...Cp to Dwight pick n roll ball. Blake can't get it done along side cp. But I don't see the deal happening between the clippers n Lakers at all. Blake is a cash cow for the clippers.

The hang up is bledsoe I hear but I don't see why the Celtics would want him with rondo there and they have a rising star in Bradley unless rondo is on his way out. Paul pierce isn't going to leave Boston I believe he will hang it up there. I think KG would leave only because he's going to a championship caliber ten.

and shaw was passed over by literally EVERYONE this off-seasonthere has to be some reason....go for hollins

I agree Shaw must be a mini PJ and teams may not like that being that PJ was a bit of an egomaniac. I think they pay hollins I don't see Karl coaching there

CP was the reason.I obviously didn't see them as regularly as you- but IMO the #1 reason for your early exit this year is you had no balls across the front line. Not sure who can convince blake (mr hollywood) that he needs to get dirty and DAJ is just a waste of spermatoes

So, you are not going to give Vinny any credit for coaching a team to a 56-26 record and the first NBA Pacific title in the Clipps history???
