12:23 PM ET 06.16 | The blockbuster deal between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers might be dead, but the Clippers' intentions to put a better team around free agent Chris Paul is not. In a separate inquiry from the Boston trade that included Kevin Garnett and coach Doc Rivers, Los Angeles asked the Indiana Pacers about swingman Danny Granger's availability. According to ESPN, Indiana isn't ready to let go of their aging leader and hopes to have a healthy Granger back next season to take another crack at the Eastern Conference championship Miami Heat. Los Angeles has also reached out to the Orlando Magic to discuss trade scenarios for guard Arron Afflalo. Overall, the Clippers' goal is clear. They want a more marketable roster by July, when Paul's free agency begins.

Clippers need to rid its roster of re-treads and all hype players. Trading away Griffin and Jordan is a step in the right direction.
