Lakers considering all options with Dwight Howard

01:18 PM ET 06.16 | The Lakers want Dwight Howard and they're confident about re-signing the soon-to-be free agent. But they're also in touch with the reality of Howard looking at his options. The Lakers are going to look at their own. Los Angeles will consider all sign-and-trade deals on the table this summer but also consider letting Howard walk. The Houston Rockets could offer a package for Howard that includes a Jeremy Lin or Omer Asik, but Los Angeles' tight financial situation could be better handled by simply letting Howard sign with a new team straight up. That would give the Lakers a chance to ride Steve Nash, Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant next season. Then, they would have flexibility in the free agent frenzy of 2014.

QUOTE(#8):

Sign and trade.

I think the best option is a sign and trade with Houston. Houston will trade every player but James Harden. Trade him to Houston and grab a lot of their young talent that are near the end of their contracts. Also grab some first round draft picks. Because the Lakers trade away most of theirs getting Nash and Howard.

I say if Dwights not happy try for a sign and trade if they want to compete they may just have to let arrest, duhon, maybe Nash and or blake as well. kobes contract is bananas so unless they want to pay luxury tax. Gasol is a piece that no one really wants to take on he is set to make upwards of 16mil

They would definitely take omer, parson (he may want big $ though) either young talent Beverly or brooks and Robinson. I don't see them paying Lin when they are paying Nash like 10mil
