Hokies QB recruit kept suitors a secret

07:25 AM ET 06.17 | Virginia Tech commit Andrew Ford managed to keep himself largely off the radar before committing to the Hokies. And that's not easy for a four-star recruit -- particularly a quarterback. But that's the way Ford, one of the top-15 rated pro-style prospects in the country, wanted it. ... Ford chose the Hokies over Virginia and Pitt. Most national recruiting sites show Ford with offers from only Temple and UMass. But he had plenty of other offers. The 6-3, 195-pound Ford chose not to make them public. "That's just the way I wanted to do it," said Ford, who threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns as a junior. "I was blessed by the opportunities that came my way. I'm very happy with the one I chose."

MSST picked up a commit from a dual threat athlete....only thing is that the dual is football and basketball. He is planning on playing both.....

Nice to see a young man conduct himself this way. Hope he is successful at Vippy Sue.

Side note: I don't bother watching the CWS, I just watch LUS's name changes. ;-)

This is the year of the Bulldogs at the CWS. Exhibit A & B were a late game rally to take the lead and a ballpark the held what appeared to be a monster shot to a warning track fly ball.

SO he chose a program that doesn't run a pro-style offense? Smart kid. He'll do well in classes at Tech.
