07:32 AM ET 06.17 | Given a chance to clarify or back off his comments critical of Jaromir Jagr, Mike Milbury pushed in the other direction just a day after blasting Jagr during Game 2 Stanley Cup coverage. Before leaving Chicago to head back to Boston on Sunday, Milbury didn't back off his criticism of Jagr and elaborated on the veteran sniper's game and why he doesn't think it fits with the Bruins current style of play. "He doesn't hustle to get to the right place," Milbury said. "He's smart enough to know where to be, and he'll pick up the garbage." ... Jagr actually led the Bruins attack with five shots Saturday night, but Milbury thinks that stat doesn't tell the whole story. "The first two came off garbage turnovers and he ripped some shots off," he said.

"He's smart enough to know where to be, and he'll pick up the garbage."

That was always the criticism of Phil Esposito, even when he scored 76 goals in one season

The good thing for the Bruins is Mick Jagr is due.

Unknown fact: Milbury has pics of Bettman and many top NBC executives in compromising positions locked in a vault somewhere.

How else do you explain his continued employment?????? :^)

Jagr and Espo have the same number of goals this playoff season.

I'm not a Jagr fan. But, there is no argument that he's one of the most talented guys to have played the game at the NHL level in the last 20 years. Mike Milbury MAY have been the most inept GM in the league during that time and certainly has been the most laughable and ignorant NHL commentator in history. To call him an ignorant nitwit would be an unfair attack on nitwits. As far as Jagr's play during this series..............too soon to tell. I might add that he's headed to 42 years old and will probably never reach the level of play he had 10 years ago. Milbury's comments however are typical of his brain-dead useless commentary.

We are two games into the fourth and final round of the playoffs. I think you know what's what. No speed, No goals.

June 17, 2013  09:06 AM ET

True. And Milbury's commentary?...............no sense, no hope for better, no way. Only needed one period of the first game in the opening round to tell that. Jagr's career is coming to an end. Milbury's shouldn't have begun.

Fact: Mike Milbury collects a salary for a hockey-unrelated occupation, that of being the resident moron on a hockey broadcast. (Fixed)

But, Mike Milbury is not smart enough to know when to shut up, and he should be picking up the garbage in the studio.

If the shoe fits......

I could be worse. The Bruins could have Iggy out there instead of Jagr. Although I didn't think so at the time its obvious that the Bruins got the better playr.

But on the bright side, Iggy has a better nickname

He may have lost a little in the speed department but, even at his age JJ has great legs. He's nearly impossible to knock off the puck and is smart enough to know how to get it back. What more do you want from a 87 year old man?

To counter that Jagr needs to bring back the mullet.... :^)

Bruins still on track for winning in 5.

And PK Chelios wins the Norris, just in case the Bruins fans forgot/missed it......

NBC's Chris Matthews reports: Commish Gary Bettman sends a trill up Dick Ebersol's leg. Dick is the head-dick of the Sports Department at NBC.
