12:37 PM ET 06.17 | The NHL has lined up an ownership group and a place to play in Seattle if the deal to sell the Phoenix Coyotes falls apart. The NHL has an agreement to sell the team to Renaissance Sports and Entertainment, who would keep the team in the Phoenix area, but that sale is dependent on Renaissance and the city of Glendale working out an arena deal. If they cannot, the NHL will sell the team to Ray Bartoszek and Anthony Lanza, who will move the team to Seattle. The NHL has met with Seattle mayor Mike McGinn and an agreement is in place to play at Key Arena until a new arena is built to go along with a plan that will make Jeremy Roenick to run hockey operations.

I want to be the first to bid them adieu!

Oh, and you can take the guy behind the podium and his sidekick (crazy Mike) with you! :-)

And, may both then take a long walk off a short pier into Puget Sound!

They're better off staying in Phoenix than having Roenick ru(i)n hockey operations in Seattle.

Seriously...

"If" Phoenix Fails?

Phoenix failed when the NHL had to take over ownership (2009).

I've Plagiarized the following from Wiki (who plagiarized it from someone else):

The NHL has owned the Phoenix Coyotes franchise since 2009. Former owner Jerry Moyes had incurred massive financial losses since his purchase of the team in 2005 and later turned it over to the league after declaring bankruptcy.

Note to self: if you get behind a podium there's a significant chance you look like Hitler. See JR and Bettman as visual evidence.

well it's Monday.....a good day for the weekly Coyotes being sold story.....cannot wait for next week's version.

Why would Seattle want to handicap themselves right from the start by having Roenick run hockey operations? After a couple years of that, we'll be having threads about them moving back to Phoenix.
