07:06 AM ET 06.18 | Metta World Peace insists the big guy isn't going anywhere, least of all Houston. [World Peace] joined Sportsradio 610 for an entertaining interview that touched upon the topic of Dwight Howard's upcoming free agency. When asked about the Lakers center who is about to be a free agent, World Peace said, "Well, he's not going to Houston, I tell you that." ... "I'm not going to try to convince him," World Peace said. "But definitely, I enjoy him, no question about it. I'll leave the convincing to the organization and to the fans. But for myself, I'm just working out and things like that, but I definitely enjoy him. He's a great person. Whoever receives Dwight Howard, they'll really enjoy their time with him. Hopefully, it's with the Lakers."

QUOTE(#7):

Wrong. The Lakers have a history of great centers - Wilt, Kareem, Shaq...they need to sell that to Howard, and build the team around him.Trade MWP, Gasol, Nash and others for pieces and picks, and pass the torch from Kobe to Dwight. Make it his team. Otherwise, lean times are coming in Lakerland.

It's pretty hard to "try to sell anything to Howard", if the guy doesn't want to listen, then let Howard walk and move on, simple as that!!!

I hope Dwight stays but if he leaves then better go. That means IMO he doesn't have what it takes to handle the Lakers pressure moving forward.

the league has changed though.the era of the dominant center is over.you still need a post scorer....but you don't need a dominant center to win

I totally agree and IMO, the Lakers would be better off trade Howard and putting Gasol back at center next season!!

If you had a coach who wasn't averse to throwing the ball into the paint, I'd disagree......but you have chosen to go with mike, so give him parts that fit his systemBut you can't lose him for nothing..... that would be horrible as you may never have an asset like him again

I agree, trade Howard and get a good PG and another SF and then go from there!!

This story has grown old real fast. Howard has proven to be just one big distraction in LA. In my opinion he hasn't given the Lakers anything that would make him worth the trouble. If he doesn't want to be there, they're better off without him. The time has come to man up. He needs to get on, or get off. I'm fine either way.
