07:08 AM ET 06.18 | This much has been reported: Doc Rivers has pondered his future in Boston, and the Celtics have engaged the Clippers in talks regarding the coach and at least one of his players. The rest is still being discussed and both sides are reaching frustration, according to NBA sources. While the Celtics demanded Clippers point guard Eric Bledsoe in any deal, they have backed off that insistence and instead want the Clippers to take on the contracts of Courtney Lee or Jason Terry and preferably both. ... Meanwhile, a source close to Rivers told the Globe that Rivers is still grappling with the decision, especially as the trade gets more complicated and negotiations more contentious. The talk of the Clippers acquiring Paul Pierce in the trade are remote.

If this trade does not happen, will anyone believe that Rivers really is happy and wants to be the coach in Boston?

Why in THE HELL would anyone want to work for the Clippers?

this move is really making the Lee and Terry signings look really bad.

plus why would you WANT DeAndre Jordan and his contract?

if Boston makes this deal I think they are in big trouble for a while- Jordan is not worth close to what he makes salary wise and Doc is a far better coach than anything they will find.

does anyone think a team of Rondo/Pierce/Jordan/Bradley/Sullinger/Lee/Terry can win anything besides a possible first round playoff exit?

paying Terry/Lee/Jordan over 20M combined a year is just bad business

Paul Pierce should be the player the Clippers want. He is a killer closer and would give them 2 to choose from in the closing seconds of a tight game:

CP
PP

Not to mention, PP is a huge upgrade over Butler.

If Crawford is on the floor at end game, it's arguable they thatvgives them 3.

*that gives them 3*

PP is an upgrade to Butler, but PP is getting long in the tooth and is having trouble guarding anyone with quickness.

Doc should NOT get a pass if they don't make the move.....If Boston fans welcome him back with open arms, they deserve a decade of rebuilding

A decade of rebuilding would still put us in better shape than the Knicks. Boston Celtics, founded 1946: 17 Championships. New York Knicks Founded in in 1946: 2 Championships. JGB what happened?

Every trade Ainge tries hits a snag. He tried to trade Ray Allen and things fell apart. It leads to a lot of hard feeling when things don't work out. Ainge needs to do a better job of keeping his trade pursuits quiet until it's a done deal.

Spot on...

If I am Doc and this trade falls through, how could Doc want to go back to Boston??

I would tell them to get lost...
