07:22 AM ET 06.19 | Peyton Manning still returns to Knoxville on a regular basis, including for a charity golf tournament and for workouts at Tennessee. The Denver Broncos quarterback and UT legend has been coming back to campus so long that many of the newest players on the Vols weren't even born when he started his college career in 1994. "It makes me feel a little older; it's pretty humbling," Manning said. "But at the same time, I enjoy getting to know these kids and being a part of the program and supporting it. I know coach (Butch) Jones is excited about the future and I'm looking forward to supporting him." ... Manning said he's also proud to call East Tennessee one of his homes, but he wasn't committed to naming Knoxville as his retirement destination.

The best support would be if he still had some eligibility left.

Talk about tossing a hanging curve out over the middle of the plate, that's the best setup man work since Ed McMahon worked for Johnny Carson.

Peyton does support UTK quite generously. We do note that post-Indy and pre-Denver, Manning visited Duke to hang with Dangerous Dave Cutcliff. All true Vols fans honor Dave and are thankful for the success he brought to Tennessee.
