04:50 PM ET 06.19 | Justin Smith wanted to finish his career with the San Francisco 49ers and with Wednesday???s announcement of a two-year contract extension between the defensive tackle and the club, that wish is likely a reality. ???They want me to be here and I want to be here so it makes it easy,??? said Smith after he inked an extension that???ll keep him with the 49ers through the 2015 season. General Manager Trent Baalke approached the 13-year veteran recently about a contract extension. It was an easy process according to Smith. The defensive tackle's deal was set to end after the 2013 season and ultimately, Smith felt good about his situation with the team and decided San Francisco would be the best place to wrap up his career. ???It was about having an opportunity to be on a great team and go for a championship,??? Smith explained. ???That???s what it???s all about.???
