CP3 behind renewed Doc talks

07:05 AM ET 06.20 | Here we go again. The Celtics' on-again, off-again trade talks with the Los Angeles Clippers are back on. On the day that Doc Rivers and C's president of basketball operations Danny Ainge were supposed to sit down and discuss his future, once again that future may result in Rivers emerging as the new coach of the Clippers. And the man driving both teams back to the table to work out a trade is Clippers guard Chris Paul. The key player involved in the proposed trade from Boston's end is Kevin Garnett who would waive his no-trade clause to play for Rivers in Los Angeles. At this past All-Star weekend in Houston, Paul made it known to anyone within earshot that he would love an opportunity to someday play with Garnett. ... [Paul] may get his wish if the Clippers meet the Celtics' asking price which most recently was DeAndre Jordan and a pair of first-round picks.

This thing better happen or else it will get worse for everybody including CP3. Everything is pointed at CP3 for this trade to happen.

It is a player's league. And Doc is a player's coach.

CP3 is probably not opposed to this idea...but he's probably just not ready to commit to staying yet. There are too many other interesting offers to listen to right now.

Who/what else do think has his interest?

There is chance of this ending well for anyone.

This is a good time to build a power house since they're coming to end now. Spurs and Heat will soon be retired or disbanded. Lakers, Celtics are going to be silent for a while. Memphis and OKC weren't able to make it happen and the east is the east, so Clippers have an opportunity to make a splash in the league.

The Clippers Will Never Become The Celtics, Bro.

CP3 wants to be a Knick badly, and the Knicks want him to be a Knick. The problem is, with the class warfare waged by the league, this is unlikely to happen. Even though we have the money, we can't spend it because of the small market teams who want to persecute us (as well Chicago, LA, etc) because we're affluent. This cap stuff is BS in my opinion.

Clippers don't do it! You are mortgaging your future for a 37yr old Garnett. 2 first rounders and Jordan for Garnett, that is a bit too much.

Chris Paul should have been a Laker if not for Mr. Stern. Too bad for him but LA has moved on.

I am really fascinated by all the attention that the Clippers are receiving. Do they think they are the 'new' Lakers? Do they think they own this town? All this hype for a team that has never even been to the Finals, let alone won a championship.

The plot thickens with Celtic coach and players rumored to be coming to LA. All I can say is that I hope they enjoy playing in the Lakers' house. If they need a reminder, just look up.

Maybe teaming up with Howard in LAL, Houston, ATL or Dallas. All are options some more so than others. WHy commit yet when there may be deals out there that are much more attractive. This is probably his last huge contract coming up and he is still at the top of his game. He needs to win now.

Yuup, the free agents have to shop around first. July 1 is what they've been waiting for. It will be like Christmas for them.
