Lineup quandary looms in Philly

07:08 AM ET 06.20 | Soon, a heap of good news will be served with a side of questions. If all goes as planned with Chase Utley's rehab assignment this week in Reading, Charlie Manuel will have an interesting dilemma on his hands when his second baseman returns. Utley is a top-of-the-order hitter, but the top of the lineup, as currently constructed, is producing. Ben Revere and Michael Young each hit .415 in their nine starts leading into Wednesday's game vs. Washington. Ryan Howard hit .452 in that span. Domonic Brown is slumping in the five-hole, but leads the team in homers, RBIs, runs and slugging. Where does Utley fit in? He's batted third in 772 of his 1,172 career starts, and second 189 times. "I don't know exactly what my lineup will be right yet," Manuel said.

i'll say. saw his W-L record the other day, thought it was a misprint. the baseball gods can sure be finicky can't they?

on the upside, Dom Brown is really putting it together for your team this year.

I hate quandary's in baseball.

I'd start by moving Howard out of the 4 spot, and moving in Brown. Howard simply isn't producing, and it boggles my mind that no one is trying to work with him, or that he can't figure out how to hit to the left side of the field. Getting real tired of seeing him strike out or hit into the shift.

Well he was a fantasy STUD for three weeks but has cooled off, though I think he'll be a pretty good player when he can curtail the slumps - I'm a big Philly homer and even I didn't think he was going to keep up that tear he was on (though it was nice to taunt the opposition in fantasy baseball when he was on fire:)

After pulling Kendrick last night I can only feel that Charlie is some how going to mess this up...His loyalty will get in the way of the production...not to say that chase wont produce but why mess up a good thing. Tell Chase to **** up and hit 5th or 6th!!!

.135/.214/.135/.349 over his last ten games. What goes up, must come down.

Or seek medical attention if it lasts more than three hours
