King denies role in coup

07:23 AM ET 06.20 | Under a great deal of speculation that New York's top players had a problem with him, John Tortorella was let go shortly after the club bowed out of the playoffs. Henrik Lundqvist did indeed give a public voice to the Rangers' disaffection on break-up day that, in retrospect, foretold the dismissal of John Tortorella as head coach 48 hours later, but this was not a case of the King leading a coup, it wasn't that at all. ... "I know there is some speculation regarding Torts being fired, but let's be clear on one thing," Lundqvist told The Post yesterday via e-mail in addressing the situation for the first time. "It's not my call who the coach should be for the New York Rangers. I would never put pressure on the management on decisions like that."

Thought the article was about Kris King, moving on......

I always thought from the start this story was way overblown.

Not always a Torts fan but I take anything in the NY Post with a grain...............no, a barrel, of salt. Perhaps if AV takes the guys on a trip to the woods and roasts marshmellows with them it will show that they'll all work together to get a Cup merit badge?

What a game last night. 6-5 OT thriller and the interns think we give a crap about Torts?

Come on, how bout we talk about Tuukka sucking hard last night or Corey Crawford's glove hand being so week that Boston will not shoot anywhere else?

Maybe we could talk about how for the most part the refs have swallowed their whistles and let these guys play all series?

Something relevant would be good.

It's up to us to bring relevant to the fore, Rex.

And - as I understand it - the APB on Crawford's left arm is still in place.

Neither goalie had their best game last night.

I noticed that Corey waved at a lot of shots when they went sailing passed him on his glove side.

I heard he's become the #1 suspect in the homicide of Dr. Richard Kimble's wife.

He reminded me of Forrest Gump on the pier in the Louisiana bayou.

Boston left it all on the ice...still love our chances.

I agree...every other team watching at home would love to be involved in a best of three for Lord Stanley's mug!
