07:11 AM ET 06.21 | To what lengths will New Orleans go for due diligence? When New Orleans Pelicans general manager Dell Demps took a trip to Europe earlier this month, he extended his evaluations beyond potential prospects for next week's NBA draft. He got a thorough look at potential free agents they may pursue when the signing period begins next month. "We go over there a few times a year and we're not just looking at draft guys," Demps said. ... Demps has declined to speak specifically about any draft prospects or any potential free agents they may target. The Pelicans, however, had shown interest in Croatian small forward Dario Saric before he withdrew his name from the NBA draft earlier this week.

Yeah, New Orleans really picked a scary bird for their mascot. The slow flying bird may just match the play of the team. Hopefully, with that name they can sneak up on some teams and get to know what the word "Playoffs" means.
Sorry to see the Heat win the championship. Hate it when an owner BUYS a championship. Hopefully, this is their last one. Want to throw The Lakers in that bunch also. May Kobe never see another Championship trophy unless he happens to be their to watch the other team hoist it. He is such a jerk.

Is it me? Or is anyone else having an issue with the Team name 'Pelicans'?

I think of "The Pelican Brief" by John Grisham. Also, New Orleans Hornets doesn't do anything special, either.

Hated much? Lighten up its over. Every team who isn't cheap and or can afford it is willing to buy a shot. Why do you think there are so many overpaid players. No one puts our money not to get some type of return.
