Josh Freeman would be content leaving Buccaneers

04:14 PM ET 06.21 | Josh Freeman was once considered the solution at quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But in April the Buccaneers drafted North Carolina State quarterback Mike Glennon. And since then, it appears that the Buccaneers are ready to start Mike Glennon over Josh Freeman essentially ushering in a new era at quarterback. And if you're starting Mike Glennon, the next logical step is to get rid of Josh Freeman. If a team was interested in trading for him that'd be a consideration. Otherwise the Bucs would probably be content to keep him on the roster as a backup. And Freeman is taking it well, according to his public statements.

Though possibly not as content as the Tampa fans would be.

Yup. He had his moments but was just too inconsistent.

Training camp and the first couple preseason games will work this out.

Rookies have a way of working themselves out of rotation. Hang in there Josh.

Polish the resume, Josh. Rookies have a way of getting the benefit of the doubt when the coaches have no faith in the incumbent.

Would like to agree, but most 3rd rounders outside of Russell Wilson tend to sit barring injury.

2012 stats: Freeman 27 TD/17INT/4065 YDS. Romo 28/19/4903, Rivers 26/15/3606, Dalton 27/16/3669, Eli 26/15/3948, Luck 23/18/4374. All comparable numbers, some (ex. Dalton) dink/dunk that inflates comp. pct. and QB rating. Freeman throws nice deep ball, can look great, just inconsistent. Bucs receivers sucked before 2012, OL not much better, coaching carousel--dude needs time to develop. 6th-rated QB in NFL in 2010 with 25 TD/6 INT. But his contract is up and the Bucs gotta pay him or dump him. Too bad for him that Jerry 'no clue' Jones isn't the owner. Romo starts for 7 yrs., wins ZERO playoff games, has comparable numbers as Freeman in 2012 and gets a monster contract extension? Explanation, please?

Well, that didn't last long.
