11:16 AM ET 06.22 | With the NBA season in the books, all teams will have to re-evaluate their roster and decide the best strategies to take this offseason if they are going to make their teams better. Even the back-to-back champion Miami Heat squad needs to take a hard look at what caused them to struggle at times, specifically the size in the paint. Because of that, you can expect the Heat to pursue a number of big men in free agency and one of those guys they are interested in is a former No. 1 overall bust. According to reports, the Heat are interested in bringing in former Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden, while keeping Chris Andersen. It appears that Oden is interested in playing for the Heat, too. Then again, who wouldn't be?

Signing Oden to a contract? Better to donate those millions to charity and get at a tax break Bro! How about going after Aldrige of Portland or Pau Gasol?

Or Andrew Bynum

Not that I disagree, but I wonder what the ceiling is for Oden is these days. 15 solid minutes a game? He's no longer going to be the game changer his potential said he might have been, so why not spend your money on a vet who can teach the young guys something and is more consistent.

Who though? A big is what they need that will take a mil for a yr. Birdman got like 300k....Oden would be a choice to gamble on.

Miami - note that it is an 82 game season, plus playoffs. Oden, if not injured for training camp, is good for maybe 15 - 20 games. Why consider him?

No, not Bynum. Andrew Bynum is a worthless pud. He does not deserve to play for any team with a shot at the Championship.

300K and a ring.

Did Lebron ask for someone that looks older than him as a teammate?

How do you know any of that about his potential? Awesome deal for the HEAT...7'1" shot blocker , defender and most importantly a very very good rebounder. Very low risk with very high potential reward for the HEAT. Little wear and tear on his body. If the knees are ok then this could actually be deemed unfair to the other teams in the league and makes the 4-6 championship thing a serious likelihood and clearly a real possibility.

I think you are grossly overestimating what Greg Oden can do. Guy hasn't played in the league since 2010 and you think he's the missing link to 6 championships?

In the immortal words of Lord Stern, "I have a bridge I would very much enjoy selling to you."

Oden would be an improvement if he could play 20-22mpg and help them in the post, but 4-6 titles? Their run could be over at 2 with Wade aging and being injury prone. Combine that with Bosh playing soft and they most likely would have lost to a healthy Thunder team.

I don't think they will 3-peat and think their run is over.

But, they deserve props for beating a tough SA team.

I agree with you that Oden could be an improvement if he could provide 20 mins agame. That would be big against bigger teams.

Regarding the Thunder, first, d wade was battling knee injuries last year in the Finals against them. The Thunder still lost. On top of that, they were a worse team this year (minus James Harden) even when they were fully healthy in the playoffs. They wouldn't have beat the Heat in the Finals this year.

As long as you have the best player in the league (by far) on your team, you will have a chance to win the championship any given season. I highly doubt the run is over.

Miami only needs a big for 15-20 minutes a game with their small ball rotations.

If they kept Birdman and signed Oden and Oden were 70% of his old self, Miami would have a front court of Bosh, Haslem, Oden, Birdman and Lebron when they want.

That is a solid front court that would enable them to body up with the Pacers and Bulls if needed.

The Spurs are no worry because I do not expect Miami to face them again in the Finals.

Its good to have opinions...even if they will be wrong.
