02:50 PM ET 06.22 | Not only are the talks between the Celtics and Clippers over Doc Rivers likely dead, but so are the discussions for a possible trade of Kevin Garnett. The two teams talked back in February about a deal centering around Garnett and DeAndre Jordan, and those negotiations started again in the wake of the Rivers talks with Los Angeles. But now it's looking like nothing will happen, and there's a good chance that Garnett remains in Boston next season.

Ainge is messing this up. DJ may not be worth his contract (that's like 75% of the league), but he's got size and athleticism and age on his side, and can be a deadly combo with Rondo.
C's should be rebuilding NOW, and not hold on to the old guys for another year. Doesn't make any sense to me.

KG has been fiercely loyal his entire career. Loyal to his coaches, Team Owner, teammates. He has a "if you ain't with me, then you're against me" attitude his entire career. Look at what happened with Ray Allen left. KG wouldn't even call Ray.

For the most part KG has only had 2 coaches (Flip Saunders and Rivers). KG said he would only wiave his no trade clause if Rivers joined him on a new team. Paul Pierce's days with the C's are dwindling. I don't see KG staying with the C's beyond next year, due to retirement or waiving his no trade clause to join another team.

This is the Celtics version of the "Latrell Sprewell/Sam Casell" situation when KG was with the TWolves. In the words of the TWolves Owner a"The Experiment" is over. Allen is gone, Pierce will soon be gone, leaving KG to be "the cheese that stands alone", and does he want to stand alone on team that is rebuilding?

KG would make any contender team a whole lot better. He won't have to be used for long stretches in LA he will be better used in the playoffs

CP3 screwed himself w/ the Clippers w/ decisions made for him and now he might screw them more if he leaves. They tried hard to cater to him and if he doesn't stay then he will be hated. At least Dwight has a great reason not to stay. He was never catered and it seems like he was more forced out. Dwight was only welcomed up to the first game of last season. After that they said eff him. Dwight was welcomed from the very beginning he put on that Clippers uniform...
