Can Heat keep team together?

09:33 AM ET 06.23 | While LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are sleeping away the summer, the Heat's front office will be busy trying to figure out how to get its payroll to a manageable level because of an onerous luxury tax put in place during the last collective bargaining agreement. The Heat is already a 2-1 favorite to win the 2014 championship, according to oddsmaker Bovada, but defending another championship most certainly will be more difficult the next time around, as preposterous as that might sound. James, Wade and Chris Bosh are under contract for next season, so the core of the championship-winning formula will be in place for another run when preseason camp begins in October. That's the good news. The bad news: If Mickey Arison and Pat Riley keep everyone on the roster for another go, and sign a free agent to replace Juwan Howard, next year's tax bill alone would be around $38million. Also, the Heat doesn't have the luxury of draft picks this summer to help reduce costs.

Dee thinks the big 3 will opt out and take less money. The only one that might is Wade since he is getting up there in age and injury prone.

DWade and Bosh will have to give major sacrifice w/ their salary if they want to continue to play together. That's the only way. Lebron was already complaining about his pay and said that he wasn't getting paid enough...

That's a great question!!! If the Heat can "three-Peat", then they will be put into the same case as the Lakers and the Bulls as being a Dynasty!!!

It all depends on how much the owner is wiling to get taxed. Winning is one thing. But getting hit hard with a heavy tax is another thing.

well you wouldn't want that seeing as the heat are dominating...
I don't see what the issue is here.
Arryson said if the team is winning he would pay the tab.
You wanna cross the bridge you gotta pay the toll, it's that simple.
The lakers should keep Howard and Kobe should be paid good right?
When it's Miami it's "impossible to keep them together"?
Really?
Let's see if either Bosh or Bron would rebuild to another team and lose then.

I would honestly try to trade Bosh next summer.
And not for peanuts either.
Bosh,Vernardo & Miller for Cousins,Thornton & Salmons....
Worth a shot.

Keep in mind they have already gone to 3 Finals. If they 3-peat that will be 4 NBA Finals in a row. I don't think anyone has done that since maybe Russell?

Good point, but we are still talking about winning the NBA championship "three years in a row" and yes if there were to win the NBA title next year, then they can be included with the Lakers and the Bulls, as one of the all time great teams!!!

Word is the heat are determining Bosh's value on the market.
Heat won with Wade & Bron dominating, but that pacers series has them wanting a legit all star caliber big.
