09:41 AM ET 06.23 | With fullback Henry Hynoski still recovering from knee surgery, and with concerns that he won't be ready for the start of the regular season, the Giants are pondering a last-ditch effort to sign free agent fullback Vonta Leach, the Daily News has learned. The 31-year-old Leach was released by the Baltimore Ravens two weeks ago and appeared set to sign with the Miami Dolphins. But according to two NFL sources, the Giants have remained in contact with his agent and are considering upping their offer to him. They had hoped to lure Leach with the standard one-year, minimum-salary deal they've given to most of their free agents this offseason.

I suspect he takes the money in Miami and it will be August cuts before the Giants replace Hynoski.

50, I think you're right. I think the recent news regarding the Giants is an Agent plant to get the Fins to step up.

Ya gotta like the Hynoski's of the NFL. Guys that go undrafted because they are too slow for that spot, too big to play over there and too small to move over there, but they are "Football" players. They like to hit and be hit.

Things the combine do not tell you....

Leach would be foolish to sign with the Giants, the day Hynoski can play again ( week 7 most likely ) he has no job.

The chicken is contingent on his being activated for 12 games or more.

With a buffet to be named later if he's active for all 16 games.

Which he? If Leach continues to perform at a high level, it may be Hynoski that has no job, even though he probably makes muuuuuch less.
