11:09 AM ET 06.23 | Kenny Martin is leaving the Arizona State basketball program. The energetic 6-foot-8 forward played in only 11 games last year as a freshman, averaging 0.5 points and 0.8 rebounds. "Coach (Herb) Sendek and I have been talking and both agree this decision makes sense at this time in my career," Martin, a Glendale Raymond S. Kellis graduate, said in a statement. "I know the staff will help me with the next step." Said Sendek: "Kenny has made a decision to relocate for a better opportunity for him. We fully support him and are prepared to help him with the transition." ASU returns three starters -- All-Pac-12 point guard Jahii Carson, senior center Jordan Bachynski and junior forward Jonathan Gilling -- from last season's team that lost in the NIT's second round. But the Sun Devils also will have seven newcomers, including four transfers.

Amazing how a guy like Herb Sendek survives in College BB? Herbie has never done a thing but somehow keeps on working.

My thoughts exactly. Sendek should be fired and then ASU could make a push to bring Ben Howland on board.
