With Doc Rivers deal in place, NBA likely won't allow a Kevin Garnett trade

10:27 PM ET 06.23 | The Clippers finally got their man, agreeing in principle to a deal for Doc Rivers from the Celtics in exchange for an unprotected first-round draft pick in 2015. The deal is pending league approval, but it's expected to go through. However, what almost certainly won't be approved is any follow-up trade of Kevin Garnett to Los Angeles. NBA commissioner David Stern raised objections last week about a Garnett trade following a Rivers move because the two would be related, and Stern's stance is unlikely to change going forward.

Now does this guarantee that CP3 will stay in LA? And if he does, can Dwight Howard be next to sign up with the Clippers? Stay tuned Clipper Nation!

And why is Doc smiling? Because he's bailing out on the Celtics as the floor is about to drop on the team and fans. As Doc doesn't have the stomach to stay and help rebuild a team. Here's your parachute Doc.
