10:53 PM ET 06.23 | Free agent guard Brandon Roy valiantly attempted a comeback this past season with the Timberwolves following his first retirement due to a degenerative knee condition. Unfortunately, Roy was only able to play in five regular season games before needing another surgery on his right knee. Roy was waived by Minnesota on May 10, and it's looking like that will have been the end of the line in terms of being an NBA player. Roy essentially said as much at a University of Washington alumni game on Sunday. "My basketball days are done. That's no secret." Roy's knee condition has derailed what was going to be a very promising NBA career.

At least he got paid last season for riding the bench...

This isn't news for Portland fans. Bust of luck Brandon. Blazer fans still love the time you were with the team.

The guy was sick for a few years. It's got to hurt being Blazers fan. Him and Oden could have been an awesome 1-2 punch.

Basically stole money from the Wolves knowing that his knees weren't well enough to play. Wolves deserve it though for being stupid enough to pay him all that money when they should have paid him the minimum.
