07:02 AM ET 06.24 | Mike Shula will set out to make this Cam Newton's best year yet, and he's looking at streamlining the information communicated through the quarterback. He explains: "The more words you have in your play calling, the easier it is on everyone else because the quarterback basically is telling them what to do. Fewer words help the quarterbacks because he doesn't have to say as much. This offense can get very wordy. So we're trying to massage it so he doesn't have to call long plays all the time and put more of the burden on some of the other players. It will help not being in the huddle all that long." In college, Newton never had to call a play or even a snap count. The plays were signaled in from the Auburn sideline.

If they want to "dumb down" the offense, Mike Shula is definately the man for the job...

Well, no one will question your take on someone's smarts, especially with your ability to spell

"definately?" Duh, Boy!

The Panthers will certainly have a better record than Washington in 2013, so I'm pleased that Shula is streamlining the play-calling. If the other players cannot remember the plays, then they find work elsewhere.

To say the Panthers will finish 10-6, clearly shows who is the dummy here, pal.

To say the Panthers will NOT finish with a winning record in 2013 shows that A) someone does not follow the NFL, B) one Washington weenie will wind up whining when their Wedskins battle the Eagles for the NFC East basement in '13, and C) the Redskin fans have sore bums from annual beating they take from the Panthers.

Good news for the Deadskins: The Panthers are NOT on their schedule in 2013.

If Cam can't call the effing plays why not just give that to the Center. Have the Center run the GD team if the QB is too effing slow to draw his stick in the sand.

The QB needs to be the smartest football guy in the huddle. That they have to dumb down the process for him tells you all you need to know.

June 24, 2013  09:21 AM ET

Fig Newton and the Panthers..

June 24, 2013  09:22 AM ET

If that comment gets removed, as did two rather innocuous ones last week, then I just might have to go to confession for the first time in 50 years....That could take a while.

June 24, 2013  09:36 AM ET

Know the Panthers needed players but still hard to figure them getting rid of Cam Newton. Don't mind that he is gone because the Panthers are in the same division as our Saints. It could take them a while to get back to having a winning percentage. Have no problem with that. Can't recall who the Panthers have for a starting QB now that Cam is gone.
Saints will be returning to their winning ways now that our coach is back and we have a defensive coordinator in place. All we need is for Goody Goodell to stick his nose in other teams business.

June 24, 2013  09:43 AM ET

In other words...he's not that smart; they have to dumb it down for him to understand; embarrassing!

LMFAO!!!! The only way the Panthers finish with a winning record is if you're using them in a game of Madden. Come back to reality bro.

Good luck in the NFC South.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Spoken like a true Dirty Bird fan. How's that O-Line for the Falcons? Your secondary looks mighty green. The Front Seven on defense missing John Abraham, Bro? Looks like the Birdies are going to get another healthy dose of Cam and the Panthers beating them down...although they can split the season series for all I care. The Falcons are not going to Super Bowl next year...or in 2015...or in 2016...
Enjoy the 2013 NFL season, Dirty Bird. Cam and the boys will be fine...Steven Jackson isn't running through anything on OUR D-Line. Cam will be better off with this style of coaching.

Only ignorant buffoons misspell when there is spell-check. Apparently, your GPA matches Mr. Blutarsky's...0.0
Try getting a college education and then we can talk, dingleberry. The Redskins have a busted-up QB. Oh, did you miss the last matchups between the Deadskins and Panthers the past two years? Bro, your indians keep being scalped!
