07:11 AM ET 06.24 | The Angels are headed to Detroit and Houston, but a trio of injured relievers will be reporting to Arizona. Sean Burnett (left elbow impingement), Robert Coello (right shoulder inflammation) and Ryan Madson (recovering from Tommy John surgery) will all go to extended spring camp to continue their rehab. ... While in Arizona, Madson will continue to play catch off of flat ground. It still remains to be seen when he will get back on a mound. Since his Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in April 2012, Madson's recovery has taken a plethora of twists and turns. Although the Angels still have a glimmer of hope, Scioscia admitted that Madson may not pitch for the club in 2013. "As the calendar turns, it becomes more of a possibility," Scioscia said.

....."Madson's recovery has taken a plethora of twists and turns."

Looks like this intern got one of those vocabulary-buuilding calendars.....I can see him now looking down on his desk at his calendar "Monday 6/24, today's word is 'plethora'. Noun: excess or abundance. "The SI interns put a plethora of crappy articles on these threads."

Well done intern.

must be nice to madsen, sure he can't pitch but that does not stop the checks coming does it? what he get, 11 million not to pitch for the reds last year then the angels were dumb enough to give him another 5 million not to pitch for them? another reason to steer your kid into baseball and have him try and be a pitcher.

Best options for the halos collapsed season?,,, trade as many regular players,,/callspo its a good trade chip/AYBAR,
Kendrick, Freiri/could help out in the second half of the season on any team,Trumbo could be the best trade player in the halos team, halos should trade Conger, since the halos preferred the punch less Chris ieannetta, Conger become expendable/Blanton should be traded as well,if Blanton record shows otherwise nobody should
Blame him, after all the halos offense is the worse in the majors :-) :-) :-)

Great, let's trade Trout for preospects. The only guy performing and he's making the league minimum.

In return the Angels could get the next Brandon Wood, Todd Greene, or Tyler Chatwood.

Farm systems are great, but I pay to watch major leaguers play.
