07:23 AM ET 06.24 | The burden of being Patrice Bergeron -- which, really, would be an impossible ask in this case -- may fall in Game 6 to Chris Kelly. While the Bruins are remaining extremely tight-lipped about the injury that sent [Bergeron] to the hospital from Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals, a source close to Bergeron confirmed that the injury "isn't a ruptured spleen." Bergeron flew back to Boston with the rest of the Bruins on Sunday morning. He wouldn't have flown with the team if he had sustained a ruptured spleen, the source said. There had been specultation that a spleen rupture is what sent Bergeron from the United Center in an ambulance while his Bruins teammates were losing Game 5. According to coach Claude Julien, he is considered "day-to-day" for Game 6.

Spleen? Rib cage muscles? Cracked ribs? Any of those would make it difficult to breathe.

agree. at this point, anything in that area should mean season over

Jason Witten is about the toughest hombre out there... and he HAD to sit with a lacerated spleen.

Take a seat, Bergeron.

Everybody's favorite Swede Peter Forsberg had to have his removed during the playoffs and the Avalanche still went on to win the Cup so perhaps the Bruins can do the same...

Or maybe the Bruins should have signed Forsberg instead of Soderberg...

Aye. I'm waiting for Brad Marchand to show up. He's been totally invisible in this series. Is it possible he's scared of Patrick Kane?

He does look a lot like Teen Wolf.

He's playing like it too. And, no Bruin is laying a glove on him. Put a lick on him once or twice and he'll pull a Hossadini on the Hawks.

Hang nail. Is my guess correct?

I think he's nursing a headache too. It's that time of the month. ;-)

Three points and a plus four rating in the last two games works for me...

They can't catch him. Too busy trying to land flying elbow smashes on Toews.

Gonna suck if the B's go down without Bergeron. It would have been fun to watch both teams go at it at full strength, but I suppose that hardly ever happens so...........................

Gonna suck just the same if they do go down WITH Bergeron. It ain't over till the fat lady sings though. Find a way to win tonight and anything can happen in Game 7. Keep the faith. You have to take it to the Hawks though. Can't sit back and react like they did the last two games and hope for better results. BTW, where the hell is Brad Marchand?

Damn good point, roamer...

He sure hasn't "distinguished" himself so far.

Maybe he's nursing a nose injury?
