06:43 PM ET 06.24 | The Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves have discussed a deal recently involving shooting guard MarShon Brooks. It's unclear whether talks have progressed particularly far yet, but the deal could give Minnesota a much-needed dose of scoring ability on the perimeter. In his second year, Brooks failed to get on the floor much for a veteran-laden Brooklyn team, but he's still a highly intriguing prospect after averaging 12.6 points per game during his rookie season. During his second season, Brooks saw his playing time drop from over 29 minutes per game to just 12.5. If the two sides can figure out how to make the contracts work, a deal that sends Brooklyn one of the Timberwolves' back-up point guards -- Luke Ridnour or J.J. Barea -- could make sense.

MarShon minutes got taken from the other rookie guy TyShawn Taylor. He's better for the Nets

Brooks is a VERY talented guy, just in a bad situation, and he needs a better attitude as well. The problem in Brookyln is they are playing under the pressure of "win now", no one has time to mentor Brooks or give him some breathing room. MN could be a perfect fit for him to grow.
