Mavs to move on from Chris Paul

05:16 PM ET 06.24 | With the Clippers bringing in Doc Rivers to coach the team, it's all but assured that point guard Chris Paul will re-sign this summer. That leaves the Dallas Mavericks without their ideal target for a major free agent push, though the team will likely hit the open market looking for a guard. Top possibilities could include Jose Calderon, Monta Ellis, Jarrett Jack, Mo Williams or the restricted free agents, Brandon Jennings and Jeff Teague. Calderon certainly stands out as the most traditional point guard in that bunch, while Ellis probably shouldn't be considered a point guard at all, so it really depends on exactly what Dallas looks for this summer. Going with the one of the former Bucks guards would be the high-upside play, though going for a veteran like Calderon or Jack seems equally possible after Darren Collison disappointed last season.

QUOTE(#3):

Ellis, Jack, and Dirk...Not exactly a thrilling big three.

I would go for Jack and Dirk and get another big. Jack won't ballhog like monta although he scores more but Dirk is the main guy. Also Jack would be much cheaper.
