07:20 AM ET 06.25 | Litigation is expensive, something the school is finding out on the fly. The law firm Bond, Schoeneck & King has billed the University of Oregon $208,991.48 for legal work performed over a 24-month period through March of this year as part of the school's internal investigation into possible NCAA violations committed by the football program. Recent billing invoices from the law firm were released [Monday] in response to an open records request made by The Oregonian in April. Phone numbers, names and other information were redacted within the billings for the months of December 2012 through March. Oregon's billings have exceeded the self-imposed cap of $150,000 under initial terms of the agreement between UO and the law firm.

It's still a lot less than the money they'd lose with more serious sanctions.

I don't know all that much about the Oregon and Willie Lyles case and I'm not saying there wasn't a $25,000 dollars that exchanged hands, but I surfed the internet and couldn't find a photo of the $25,000 dollar check??? Does anyone know for sure, if the NCAA has a copy of such a check??? Just curious as hell!!!

The NCAA has their own problems. I understand that they lost a lot of ther investigators over the Miami screwup.

Per Bruce Feldman, the NCAA will announce UO penalties tomorrow morning. Just in time for several recruit visits later this week.
