07:25 AM ET 06.25 | Patrice Bergeron skated through 24 shifts, logging more than 17 minutes of icetime with a list of injuries that could understandably have sidelined him. He really didn't want to get into details, concerned that it might sound as though he was making excuses. But he knew that many people wanted to know the extent of the injuries that knocked him out of Game 5 and made him doubtful for [Monday] night. So he laid it out. "I don't like to do that, but I know there's some media that might not be there (at the breakup day. .. He paused, took a breath. "I had a broken rib, torn cartilage and muscles, and I had a separated shoulder," said Bergeron, very softly. "Well, the shoulder was [Monday night]. So yeah, there was a lot of help from the medical staff."

Noone can ever question Bergeron's toughness after this. It's pure hell to breathe with broken ribs and torn cartilages but, he kept coming back for more. Great stuff.

I thought Boston played tough and put it all out there throughout the playoffs and in this series as well. They came up a wee bit short. Nothing to be ashamed of...............they lost and the Hawks won the toughest prize in all of pro sports.
