07:24 AM ET 06.26 | For sheer numbers, Notre Dame's class of 2014 haul is already impressive -- a dozen verbal commitments, including a quarterback, with seven months until national signing day. The biggest remaining need? With Stephon Tuitt and Louis Nix possibly gone after this season to the NFL, and February signee Eddie Vanderdoes now at UCLA, defensive line appears to be it. "Without a doubt," CBS Sports Network recruiting analyst Tom Lemming said. "They've got to constantly improve depth. That's their biggest weakness." ... Elizabeth Ky., standout Matt Elam, a 6-foot-6, 325-pounder, was the latest elite defensive lineman to visit the ND campus. Elam's Monday visited impressed him enough to be the Irish in his final five, along with Alabama, Ohio State, [Louisville and Kentucky].

Personnally, I wish Tuitt and Nix would leave for the NFL right now. They have killed us the last two years.

IF it's any consolation, I still curse your coach for that fake field goal.

Not saying it's gonna happen, but what a coup it would be if Charlie Strong or even Stoopsie at UK landed this big fella over Bammer/tOSU/Domers.

I can see that. However, it's one thing to lose on a trick play, but to get stuffed by a D-line two years in a row is very frustrating.

It's a head scratcher but a lot of people are saying Kentucky may be the team to beat.

I've borrowed DS's 1st post to quote/fix the thread topping blurb. It's called football for a reason, and ND offered a scholly to an awesome kicker and received a verbal commitment.

He should play for the Vols.

Since this is the first thread of the day, but not doing a whole lot of business, I will hijack and see what happens:

I see Aaron Hernandez has been arrested. Discuss.

How about Oregon getting off with only 2 scholly losses (1 ea for 2 years).

Cheat away, folks... there's no reason not to

oh, and if I'm USC, I would be pissed beyond belief. They are the only school to get the expected sanctions. Everyone else has walked.

And if I'm the Canes, I would think "slap on the wrist" would be in my future as well.
